John & Big Mama the Pig

I have worked with this pig over the past two years to be docile, friendly, and well-adapted to our systems here on farm.

A Cute Pig

You have to admit, as pigs go, she’s a cute one. She’s a hereford-mix breed. Like hereford cattle are distinct for having red coloring with a white face.

Piglet Creep

Here the chickens are testing out the piglet creep area that we made. We knew it was a possibility that she could crush the piglets, so we created a safe zone with extra heat lights for baby piglets.

Her ordeal of childbirth took a lot out of her. It is devastating to all of us here that it did not work out.
